Report No. CPS-003-25 New Fireworks By-law

This item has attachments.  
    1. That Council direct staff to bring forward a by-law to prohibit the sale of fireworks and the discharge of family fireworks as contained in Attachment No. 1 and amend the AMPs By-law accordingly.

Report No. CPS-004-25 Clean Yards By-law Amendment

    1. That Council approve the recommended changes as contained within the report; and

    2. That Council direct staff to bring forward the appropriate By-law amendments.

Report No. CPS-005-25 Animal Services By-law Update

    1. That Council direct staff to bring forward a by-law to repeal the existing Animal Services By-law (By-law #2019-047-RE) and replace this By-law with a newly proposed Animal Services By-law as generally contained within this report; and

    2. Further that the Animal Services By-law be brought under AMPS.

    1. That Council extend Draft Plan Approval for Subdivision File No. 19T-90.001 for a period of two (2) years, with a revised lapsing date of March 4, 2027; and
    2. That Council direct Staff to issue a Notice of Decision for the extension to Draft Plan Approval.

Member Motion, re: The Canada Community-Building Fund (CCBF)

This item has attachments.  

  • WHEREAS the town receives a The Canada Community-Building Fund (CCBF) from the Federal government annually that is for capital investments in essential infrastructure, such as roads and bridges, public transit, drinking water and wastewater infrastructure, and recreational facilities project categories; and

    THAT the Commissioner of Finance and Treasurer collects, manages and controls the fund; and

    THAT the Commissioner of Engineering and Public Works and the Commissioner of Community Services creates the list of approved capital projects for this fund; and

    NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED THAT, we are requesting that the Commissioner of Finance and Treasurer provide the CCBF current balance and the 2024 tax fund amount received and an estimate of the 2025 tax fund; and

    THAT the Commissioner of Engineering and Public Works and Commissioner of Community Services provide the list of capital projects and how they are prioritized for this fund, the list of the 2024 projects and those completed, and the current 2025 projects assigned to this fund; and

    THAT the report to be completed and brought back to the Council Meeting April 16, 2025.
